Hello, this isn’t a post making fun of Reddit and the people who use it but it’s just me trying to relay me experiences after I actually just stopped paying attention to Reddit or much social media. I barely use Reddit for a while for a year or two I don’t know. I’m that time I’ve realized a lot about myself and I also got a girlfriend. She means a lot to me and I’m glad I actually payed attention to life. I will state again this isn’t to make fun of people but I do see people who ask how to be in relationship or just desire to have health relationships. I would suggest To just get off Reddit. Your favorite things will still be here but focus on the real things in life, the things you want to achieve. Adapt healthy habits too, do things you’re interested learn a instrument, work out, do things that will genuinely make you happy. I know this is all written weird and stuff but just get off social media or just Reddit in general and enjoy your life.

So both I and my partner are neurodivergent. We are both working through our medication trials to find the right balance. Both of us are DX, I joke that I’m a multitrack ADHD and he’s a single-track ADHD. I also have GAD and he has GAD and potentially depression and/or DSPS (Delayed Sleep Phase Syndrome). I’m currently on a stimulant that helps me, but he has yet to find anything that helps him with his symptoms.
I have been employed since I was 16. Being unemployed makes me anxious and uncomfortable. So, I currently work 30 hours a week, I’m going to school full time to get my degree, I’m also currently in two different weekly therapy sessions, I’m solely responsible for my dogs (he doesn’t really like dogs), and am working towards having a regular self-care schedule for the first time in years (thanks medication!).
He is unemployed and has been since he moved in with one brief exception where he worked a ridiculous number of hours seasonally for UPS (over the holidays). He is looking for a job that lines up with his career goals and his degree in microbiology. That’s fair. I understand the research field is tough to break into and it might take a while. Especially with the whole… global situation.
Right now, I mostly just hang out on the couch when I’m home. Between virtual school and virtual therapy, and homework for each of them, when I’m not at work (2 12-hour shifts and a 6-hour shift) I am on the couch on my laptop. I feel like I’m very busy, overscheduled even. I have trouble fitting in normal stuff like doctor’s visits and potentially seeing friends. When I have free time, I mostly hang out on Reddit/Facebook/read/game/etc.
My partner spends almost all his time sleeping or gaming with his friends. I sort of expected that since he was home all day every day that he’d be responsible for household chores. He cooks dinner almost every night, which is awesome, he’s an amazing cook! But he makes a TON of dirty dishes, which he then avoids cleaning until he doesn’t have a choice. It’s so messy in the kitchen that we’ve had a recurring ant problem. I can’t make myself lunches on the days I’m home because there is no space on the counter. It’s gotten to the point that I avoid the kitchen altogether because I can’t handle going in there. I’ve made it clear that I expect him to also do the dishes. We’ve talked about it… but here’s the thing, because of his ADHD lights are often left on, he showers for an hour plus at a time, he forgets to close doors/windows which vents heat (it’s cold here, so the heater is often running). I say all this because he is responsible (and reasonably so, I feel) for paying the utilities (other than internet and garbage, which I pay). He also buys all the groceries because he is the one doing most of the cooking in the house. (He’s also a better bargain shopper than I am).
He’s started telling me that he feels he does everything. Which, he kind of does. I am so busy and he is home all day sleeping and gaming, and cooking (he cleans on occasion, but not with any regularity, our house gets cleaned only irregularly). He pays most of the house bills. (I pay 2 bills and get the paper products like TP and paper towels). So, yeah, he kind of does everything and says I’m not doing my fair share…
Is my ADHD making me blind to the reality of our relationship? Or is this his ADHD? Or are we both wrong? I need external opinions/thoughts from people who are familiar with how ADHD partners work in a domestic setting.

2021.10.26 01:40 052000Pw 6’1 (154-159LB depending on time of week/day) [21M] , need advice
So I’ve been pretty active all my life , started light weights and gym life at 13. I’ve had pretty nice progress until around the age of 19 where I hit a plateau. I’ve tried eating excessively(even though I probably didn’t eat enough) , it would work for the first couple weeks im which I’d see a pound or two firmly added, but as soon as I slack off the food for a day or two consecutively I’ll instantly lose 5 pounds . My metabolism has always been incredibly fast but I thought it would ease up by now . I try to hit the gym 4-5 times a week and stick to heavy exercises/low rep that tear my muscles up nicely to avoid calorie burn. I only hit the gym for 30-45 minutes to avoid it. I stoped running and I love to run due to calorie burn . There was an instance in this last 12 months that I’ve been fluctuating in the 150s that I dropped to about 147, had to stop running after that. Frame pics : frontback. Recently I could say I have not been having the best schedule ; have 24 hour no sleep sprees in which I’ll hit the gym twice, then sleep. Any advice would help and is appreciated, thanks .
